Joyeux Anniversaire à notre petite!!

Our angel has been blessed with 3 years!! And to think, she got to spend her 3rd in France of all places. That's a birthday gift in and of itself!! She has been begging for cupcakes for months and that's what we gave her. I found a cute hole in the wall pâtisserie that's about 5 or so miles from us and she chose 3 different cupcakes to signify her 3 special years. She was so ecstatic. The guy who worked there gave her a bag of gum balls as a little gift, too. She took two from the bag, ate one and then held the other in her hand for 5 STRAIGHT hours.....don't ask. After her little rendez-vous with the cupcakes, Hilton had to go back to practice so I took her to her favorite park where she went wild. I was slowly suffering from the sun and nausea but I sucked it up for the sake of her big day. And that, my friends, is how Elan celebrated her 3 years in Lyon. Click on the pictures to make them nice and big! :)

*Twitch:Twitch*

1) Getting EJ on France's schedule is proving to be very, very difficult.
2) What was before considered as normal hunger pangs every so often has now turned into a ravenous desire to EAT anything and everything around me EVERY HOUR!!! I've even eaten stale bread (expired August 6) with butter *lowers head in shame* Going food shopping today, though.
3) Did I mention I can't stop eating?
4) I'm waiting for Hilton to teach me how to drive manual. I'll report back on any extensive car or people damage.

That's all for now. I'm exhausted!!

First day in Lyon!

After being given less than 24 hours notice of our flight plans, we made it!!....but without Immi. The evening before my flight, I was casually informed that because the flight was booked last minute and because we were to connect in Germany, it just wasn't going to happen. Furious and flustered, I managed to find a pet transportation company that would fly her to my mom's house. I had to get a last minute appointment that same evening for ANOTHER health certificate as the international one wouldn't suffice because with the airline that she is to travel with, the certificate is only valid for 10 days *rips hair out*. On my way to the airport, I dropped her off at a kennel near by for the weekend where she'll be picked up and flown on Monday. It was hard for EJ to leave her. She was crying and screaming for her at the time, but now she's alright. I'm going to miss our bean, but she and my mom will enjoy each other's company for sure.
The flight from Texas to Germany was the longest flight in my life...9 1/2 hours, to be exact. From there, we flew another hour to Lyon. Et voila, we made it. Ironically, this was my best travel experience with EJ. She was so complacent and cooperative it was scary. I thought she was coming down with something. There had to be a catch! But no, maybe God was just giving my nerves a break.
We are in a cute little 3 bed room apartment that's about as small as my knee cap. Everything in here is petite!! The kitchen holds the stove, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine AND dryer AND a breakfast table!! No, it's not a big kitchen. Everything in the kitchen is the size of Hilton's palm. No lie. I'll have to post some pictures soon. Boy has the US certainly brainwashed me to believe that everything needs to be super-sized.
Tomorrow morning, EJ and I will take a stroll around the area for breakfast while Hilton's at practice. Then, we are going to make a trip to the city hall to try to get EJ enrolled in school and thennnnn find a doctor for the growing embryo (Hilton hates when I say that) :).

Ciao!
